Ice Safety
So this is posted for a couple different reasons.

1) This topic is near and dear to my heart, primarily because I have gone through the ice a couple of times in my past, fortunately the worst result being a respiratory infection and some frostbite on my feet and hands. Coming from a cold climate, I've been ice fishing many many times and been out on the ice just for fun, although I've never taken a vehicle out there. Still, they brief everyone on what's required for what, just like in this presentation.

2) The graphic and applet are just cool, so this again is mainly posed just for me, but if you'd like to check it out:

32.1 F!
I'm starting to get a bit suspicious of the weather here on the coast...I woke up this past Tuesday to find my thermometer saying it was 32.4 F outside, with a recorded low that night of 32.1 F. Just above freezing. I thought it wasn't supposed to do that here on the coast.

I'm keeping an eye on the plants to see how they're doing after that brush with freezing. Granted, I grew up where it freezes regularly every fall, but then again we didn't expect delicate plants to survive outside all winter through it. It's irritating that it has happened here more than once within the past 5 years.

Stay warm...
